I embark

Into the darkness of my own heart.

Shadows and fears unveiled

I have set sail

To reveal the truths

That hide in the night.

Turning the other cheek

Is not an option

The darkness encompasses me.

I am wholly

In its grips

I am wholly

Within.

Darkness and light

I find inside

The strength to be.

The strength to see
